British Airways is the United Kingdom's flag carrier airline, with origins dating back to 1919. It is a member of the oneworld alliance and operates mainly from London Heathrow (including Terminal 5), London Gatwick, and London City.
Most long-haul routes have four cabins: Euro Traveller (Economy), Euro Traveller Plus (Premium Economy), Club World or Club Suite (Business), and First. Club Europe is a short-haul business, and World Traveller is a long-haul economy.
In 2025 the loyalty program was renamed from Executive Club to British Airways Club. Membership is free, and its currency is Avios, earned on flights, hotels, car hire, credit card spending, and more. Blue members in Club World are still charged Earn Avios on BA, Iberia, Aer Lingus, and other partner flights.
The year runs from April 1 to March 31.
From April 2026, additional tier points are tiered by cabin and fare bracket. Club World earns 500 from a standard fare and up to 1,100 from a fully flex fare.
BA opens reward seats 355 days before travel. After changes in December 2025 and May 2026, Avios redemptions became more expensive.
Club members will not be charged for advance seat selection in Club World, but others will. Bronze and above get to choose freely at varying lead times.
