TAP Air Portugal is Portugal’s national airline and a member of the Star Alliance. It links Europe, Africa, and the Americas via its hubs in Lisbon (LIS) and Porto (OPO) and is known for its free Portugal stopover program. Cabin Classes

On long hauls, TAP has two cabins: Economy and Executive. No First Class is carried.

• Economy: Discount fares only include hand baggage, with charges for seat selection. Classic fares and above include one checked bag and standard seat selection. Free changes are available only on Economy Plus and Top Executive fares.
• Executive (Business): TAP’s business class, with lie-flat seats on its A330 and A321LR planes, and Portuguese porcelain for the meals. Includes 2 checked bags and free standard seat selection. Higher Top Executive fare offers complimentary changes and refunds.
• Coming Soon: TAP announced a booking option with 12 “neighbor-free” seats (blocked middle seats) between Executive and Economy, with flexible rebooking and bonus miles.

Miles&Go Loyalty Program

Miles&Go is the TAP frequent flier program and is a Star Alliance currency. You can earn and redeem miles on TAP, Star Alliance partners, and select non-alliance airlines, including Emirates, Azul, and JetBlue.

The program has three elite tiers:

• Silver Navigator
• Gold Navigator: Also gives you Star Alliance Gold.

You can earn Status Miles on any Star Alliance partner, not just TAP. Executive fares earn bonus miles, with Top Executive earning more than standard Executive.

The Air Portugal Airline Stopover

TAP's best-known perk is its free stopover. Passengers connecting through Lisbon or Porto can stay in Portugal on eligible itineraries with no extra airfare, just by adding the extra leg.
